Wrap Around - default ON. How?
Date: 09/08/07

Is there any way to make the default search behavior for control-f, find, have "wrap-around" turned ON. I think I may have put in hundreds or thousands of clicks now, turning that back on over and over and over again.

Firefox input delay.
Date: 09/07/07
Keywords: web, seo
In Firefox, every action I take has a delay of 1-4 seconds. As I type this entry, the letters appear a few seconds after I hit the keys. This becomes a major hassle when filling out large forms and I can't tell where I'm at - if I'm tabbing through, I may have mistabbed or the keystrokes didn't register and I end up, say, putting my address in as my SSN. It's also just plain annoyong, as I mouseover a link and it doesn't indicate that I've done so until after I click it...then the click doesn't register until a few seconds after this. This is especially annoying when I'm doing QA testing on web applications. This behaviour also extends to the URL bar, search functions and menu options.
I do not experience this delay with IE or any other program.
I've cleared the Cache and restarted both FF and my computer many times over since this problem started.
Any idea what may be going on and how I may fix it?

Hi,
Does anyone know if there is a hotkey to get yourself into Firefox's search box?
So far the only keyboard method I know of is to go F6 (to address bar) then TAB (to switch from address to search box).

Lately FF seems to be pulling old HTML on some web pages, such as my own, when I'm building them. I'll be doing testing, changing the page, and refreshing - but FF doesn't seem to be catching the changes, until I clear all personal data and restart (this is is mac) - is here a hard reset I can do to the history to change this?

Firefox never shows HTML the way its intended to be viewed
Date: 09/01/07
Keywords: html
Whenever I'm viewing someone's livejournal, myspace, etc firefox always ruins it. When I make a layout, the HTML is never displayed the way I want it, if at all. I really don't feel like making a separate code to put in my overrides just so it will look like how it's intended to while using firefox. Is there a simpler way to make layouts look like they should? Or is there a way I can view other people's profiles/journals on firefox where the HTML shows up like it should? '

Smart Save
Date: 08/29/07
Keywords: yahoo
Since I updated Thunderbird to 2.0.6 I noticed smart save is no longer compatible with it, which I so I can zip my messages and send them to Kujon since I use Ypops and yahoo is fruity about sending attachments using ypops. Is there a similar add on that works the same as Smart Save, that works with Thunderbird 2.0.6?

Halp!

Ok, so here's my trouble...
I have a Mac laptop. Since Safari is an inferior web browser, I download Firefox. I get an icon in my Applications that is a sheet of paper with a hard drive on it called Firefox 2.0.0.6 dmg, and an icon of an external drive with the Firefox logo in my desktop. I click on the icon in my desktop and it brings open a small window with a Firefox logo in color on the left, a greyscale logo with a plus sign and arrow pointing at it in the middle and a greyscale Applications icon on the right. I can click on the color logo and it opens a Firefox browser. I cannot click anything else in the window.
When I shut down my computer and turn it on later to use it, the icon is gone from my desktop. There is only the paper with a harddrive icon in Applications. I have to click it and re-accept the Terms of Service, and Then I get the weird window with the 3 icons all over again. It is annoying and I wish I could just have Firefox all the time. And not have to jump through a bunch of hoops...
Thanks
Michele

Thunderbird update help
Date: 08/19/07
Keywords: software, virus
Help! I have downloaded the latest version of Thunderbird (already had it on my computer, but got a message saying there was an update available). Everything downloaded alright, but then when I tried to get into Thunderbird, it tries to add the latest updates, but then I get a message saying "Software Update Failed: One or more files could not be updated. Please make sure all other applications are closed and that you have permission to modify files, and then restart Thunderbird to try again." I click okay, and then it just tries to install the updates again, giving me the error message, on and on in a nasty cycle.
I've tried googling the problem, and I can find stuff about the same error message given for Firefox updates, but nothing on Thunderbird. Can anyone help?
Also, dunno if this matters, but right before I downloaded the new version, I renewed my subscription to my anti-virus protection and downloaded the software for that. Could that have anything to do with it? Thanks in advance!!

Why FireFox is Blocked
whyfirefoxisblocked.com
You've reached this page because the site you were trying to visit now blocks the FireFox browser... Millions of hard working people are being robbed of their time and effort by this type of software.
Though easily circumvented by using this user agent switcher add-on plugin. The Blocked site also seems to link to other anti-FireFox pages. Interesting...

Problems with Photobucket and Firefox
Date: 08/17/07
Keywords: no keywords
I'm in a real fix here. I use the latest Firefox and have Adblock Plus installed. Just today I noticed that none of the pictures in my Photobucket account show up.
- It's not a problem on Photobucket's end or with my links because they all show up fine in IE.
- It's not caused by Adblock because the pictures don't show up even when I disable it, and when I click on Adblock, it shows me that it is not blocking the pictures.
- I've gone into the Options and made sure that the "load images" box is checked (however I have no "for the originating site only" box so I don't know if it's checked or not, wherever it is), and there is nothing in the "exceptions" box.
I can't figure out what is causing it. The real puzzler of the situation is that I have another Photobucket account, and all the pictures from that album show up fine. This is really annoying me and any help would be very appreciated.

help with extensions
Date: 08/15/07
Keywords: no keywords
Could anyone suggest a Firefox extension for disabling gif animation? I used to like AniDisable, but now they say it's in the sandbox. Another extension I really need is the one for autofill. I can't figure out the actual Autofill Form extension, so I'm looking for alternatives. There was one extension I used for that, but I don't remember the name of it and this information can't be retrieved from my old computer. Thanks a lot.

I love Firefox, but it is a slow, lame dog on my PowerBook G4, even with 1.5GB RAM. In contrast, the Safari 3 beta is full of pep and verve, and maybe moxie. So I've got four Windows machines with Firefox, and one Mac with Safari now.
Is there anything I can use to keep my bookmarks synchronized between Safari and Firefox?

Just wondering, is there a setting in the advanced config that will force a new tab whenever you click on a bookmark? (and this is only for bookmarks, I don't want every single link I click to open in a new tab).

Is anyone else in LJ land having this problem?
http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=550047
This used to happen randomly on my old version of Firefox as well. But ever since Firefox v2.0.0.6, I can't get rid of those ugly, red-diamonded, image placeholders. I used to be able to get rid of it simply by clearing my cache and restarting my browser, but that doesn't work anymore.
Is this a bug, or has Firefox changed their image placeholders?
I'm using Windows XP, if anyone cares. And I'm new, btw. *waves* firefoxusers has suddenly disappeared, so I seek refuge here.
