I made a big boo-boo with purchasing a Sony Vaio PCVA-141LAP Monitor off of eBay, thinking that it would work with my brother's Sony Vaio desktop. Now, I don't know too much about computers and I'm wondering if there is some type of adapter we could purchase in order to make it fit. I don't know what other type of information you might need, but doing basic searches about the monitor I've come up empty. Any suggestions? It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I'm getting around to making my shopping list & I'm stuck on one. My Aunt is a computer teacher/manager of an elementary school & I hear she does a little bit for the junior high as well, (small school). I'd like to get her something that she can hang around her computer screen, etc. Examples are things such as the animals that are made of fabric that hug the screen, little trinkets made for sitting ontop of a computer monitor, or even merchandise, such as a bag with little computers sewn onto it. If push comes to shove I'll get crafty & make something for her, it's just where to find this inspiration that's the problem. She's around Macs all day, and loves little "cutesy" things with computers since it's that elementary teacher chic look ;) Anyone have any links to merchandise? Or even links to how-tos to make her something?

I found little mouse pencil sharpeners that make great stuffing with a gift on Ebay, & will keep searching! Thanks for any help!:)

I run: windows 98 SE, IE 6.0

For some reason, just today, when I log into sites, I can't STAY logged in, and I get annoying security certifcate prompts everytime I go to ebay and gmail ..

I can't access the 'standard' view of gmail, and the 'html' version of gmail wont let me delete messages.

I looked in my internet options >> advanced tab, and 'warn about invalid site certifates' is UNCHECKED, (I never had it checked in the first place, nor did I change any security settings to make it this way, so I have no idea what is going on.)

I cleared ALL cookies, my cache, my temp internet files, ran hijackthis, and spybot, and nothing showed any problems or fixed anything.

wtf is going on?

So here is the deal. I was selling this laptop on ebay. Retails about $850. So I get an email in ebay from this guy say he needs it right away and it for his son, blah blah blah. I will pay you $4,000 if you can ship it to me right away and if we can do the transaction through western union. So here is the emails. Just be careful, I am very security minded and almost fell for it. If it wasn't for my distrust in most things, I wouldn't of call western union and found out it was fake.

ok, so I'm losing my mind with FF. I love it, but it seems unstable as hell since the 1.5 release. I'm running the latest release, but it seems that with anything that uses some kind of upload feature - such as when I'm trying to upload images to ebay or something like that, it hangs, then kicks up a dialog that says "a script seems to be making firefox run slowly - you can stop the script or try to continue". If I stop the script it will ususally alow me to go to the next section of the page and the pics or whatever else will have uploaded, but lately it won't do that. Its' driving me bloddy nuts. does anyone have any ideas?

I attempted to run Ad-Aware but everytime it starts running, the computer restarts. So, I deleted all of the programs in the Control Panel that she didn't need, deleted the cookies, deleted all of the internet files she didn't need, restarted, and the computer seemed to work fine.

However, today she said "Win32reg.exe" keeps popping up a screen. I had already installed Google's Toolbar and so that is the same pop up blocker she uses. I ran Hijack This and got this:

What should my next step be? I deleted the files that were obviously crap but win32reg.exe wasn't even there.

Anyone know of how to remove this piece of crap?

So I've recently won a laptop off ebay from the seller mrbiggs228. All is well and the laptop has been shipped [while I have not yet received it I do have the tracking number]. So he leaves me positive feedback and all that goodness, and suddenly a few days later I recieve an email from Ebay stating this:

"Our records show that you were a bidder or buyer of one or more of this seller's items. We recently removed this seller's active listings and suspended the seller's trading privileges. Due to privacy concerns we cannot share further details about this seller."

I trust this seller, he has a rating of 44 with only 2 negative feedbacks, which after review were not justifiable. Also I recently found out that the bidder 123devonj with a feedback rating of NEGATIVE THREE (-3!) [all of which bash the buyer as a fraud] won a laptop from mrbiggs228. Well what a flippin' coinsidence that suddenly mrbiggs228 is banned! What crap is this?! I've sent multiple emails to ebay trying to figure out what's going on, and maybe clear mrbiggs228's name. I haven't even had the pleasure of leaving him positive feedback! Also, somehow I've been prohibited from contacting either member directly, even when not through ebay, at least that's all I can figure out since I've not received replies and ebay sends notifications of blocked responses... weird...

Anybody else here witness such nonsense on ebay? It goes to show how careful you have to be when dealing with frauds.

Well there's definately no going back now. I redesigned my website this week check it out and I kind of uploaded the new index file over the old one when I wasn't looking. I've spent the last week redesigning the site, there's a lot of muck and shit that had to go. The redesign wouldn't have been possible w/o the step-by-step guidance from photoshopcafe.com

Anyways if you're thinking that this looks a lot like some template you saw on the net, then you're right. I was greatly inspired by this template I saw when surfing ebay one day. Rip all you want, this page was ENTIRELY created by me, in Photoshop, Image Ready, and Dreamweaver. Sure I borrowed a LOT of the elements, but I'm happy with it. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
