Changing browser text size.

Keywords: no keywords
I know this is stupid and obvious and I'm sorry, but I just cannot remember how to fix it.
*mental block*
You know sometimes if you hit a key and roll the scroll button on your mouse at the same time, your text can shrink or enlarge?
Whatever I've pressed has shrunk mine and I cannot figure out what to press to get it back. It looks bloody hiddeous.
I've done it before, afew times, and I was sure it was just something like holding down the shift key and then rolling the scroll button to change it back, but thats not working. That just seems to take me back a page.
Help, please!
I know there is a post just afew below this asking the exact same question, but that was for Firefox and I'm using AOL. :/
Thank you so much if anyone can help. ♥

Help for a Sony Vaio
Date: 11/25/06
Keywords: no keywords
Hi, I just bought a new Sony Vaio, and it has this thing where if I leave the mouse cursor on an item it automatically clicks it so that all I have to do is click once more to open it.
The thing is that I don't want that, and I don't know how to shut it off. Does anybody know what I mean, and know how to shut it off? Thanks for any help.

Hello,
I recently bought an external HDD and it came with FAT32 format. I want to convert it to NTFS format. Can I just do this by going into properties and clicking on format? or is that not the correct way/method?
Thanks to any responses.

Arghhh!
Date: 11/21/06
Keywords: virus, spyware
Grr. Basically, I am having some serious computer issues, based around Windows closing and error report sending the "Data Exucution Protector" and "DrWatson Debugger ..something".
My laptop is only 11 months old and runs on Windows XP.
I have done a Norton virus scan on it with no results, and scan for spyware regularly.
1) "My Documents" no longer has my documents in it. I thought they had all been deleted, but for some bizarre reason they have all been moved to folders labelled "____'s Documents". WHY?
2) Lately it has been repetatively popping up those send error report boxes for "Data Exucution Protector" and "DrWatson Debugger" type things. After they appear everything pretty much breaks down and my desktop disappears (the toolbar etc.), making it unusable.
3) I took the laptop into PC World and was showed a way I could scan it for something that would make sure it was running at proper speed.. I cannot remember for the life of me what it was doing really, only that there were five stages to it on a grey screen in safety mode of the computer, but apparently I could do this off the desktop
I would really appreciate any explanation or advice :)

Windows Media Plower

Okay... so, I'm retarded.
I jumped on the bandwagon and installed Windows Media Player 11. Recently, when playing back certain media, especially STREAMING media, I have no sound.I have sound in other applications such as Winamp, Goldwave, and evenif I play a local file through WMP I have sound. I checked my volumecontrol settings and my speaker volume on the speakers connected to myPC. Nothing.
so, I went to Add/Remove Programs. I removed WMP and WMP11's codecs. It worked... for a while.
so,Now I'm back to WMP10, with the XP Codec Pack installed. Still, nosound. Is there a program SIMILAR to GSpot where I can find out whatthe streaming codecs in use are? Normally when its a codec issue I havethe reverse problem: sound but no video.
Any advice is appreciated.

Editing a .lit file
Date: 11/17/06
Keywords: software
I was wondering how to "open" and edit a .lit document.
See, I've got this series of books in .lit format, but there's no table of contents so I can't just jump to the book I want, which is annoying, to say the least.
Can any of you clever folks here tell me how to and, if any, what kind of software I need to arrange this stuff as I prefer? ;->
Thanks for any and all help on advance.
X-posted.

Aaah! My speaker just went out!
Date: 11/13/06
Keywords: no keywords
Yes, speaker. One of them, anyway. The right-hand one. I can't figure out what's wrong. I was listening to music and all of a sudden it just stopped working. I can't figure out what's wrong. Everything's plugged in, and the little green "power" light is on, and I've tried unplugging and plugging cords back in, to no avail. The left-hand speaker works fine, but it sounds weird to just have one speaker working (my right ear kind of "feels" funny). Anyone know how this could possibly be fixed? I'd use headphones but can't as the headphone jacks don't work.

external hard drive, multi dvd burners and HELL
Date: 11/13/06
Keywords: microsoft
bare with me for a sec...
so i'm having hardware issues with my multi dvd burner, where it recognizes dvd's that are already burned or oem. but at soon as i put in a dvd-r or rw it 'becomes' a cd-rom. it also does dvd-ram so it barely burns to those, if i add tooo larg a file, it give me errors.
after taling to various people, and thinking i'd have to do this anyways, i finally broke and began to reinstall windows.
1- i have oem xp home with sp2 UPGRADE version
2- i have oem win 98 [and bootable copy]
so i go an drop the bootable copy in the drive, but it doesn load properly and goes stright to dos c: drive
so i goto my f: drive [which is technically my g: drive] and open the dir, and run setup.exe on f:\win98>
it runs scan disc instead, and i'm thinking it needs to do this to install...
so wrong
it precieded to call my i: [external] drive my d: [internal] drive and told me i had errors so i was like fix it, after it did the same to the c: drive...
and it renamed all my files into chk except one folder??? and the files that iomega installed to run the external drive, i wish i had created a recovery floppy at that point, but it prooved useless later anyways as i will explain, and it stopped 1/2 way through saying that there weren't enough filenames (ie: FILE0000.CHK ) for all the files in the drive [iomega external 160 GIG]... yeah
so it stopped and left me with 9,999 FILE####.CHK files and no idead wtf they were originally, it also told me to rename or DELETE? [fuck no!] the files so that it could create more... and finish running
i went and called microsoft and they gave me the run arround, though i do have two free service calls or tech supports since i'm still under warrenty, so i give em a chance, while my wife is flipping out i the back ground as we had important personal and leagal files, let alone programs installed, projects, videos, images, and iso/mds files too
so after recieving nill phone call at the apointed time i went to a friends and downloaded a couple of chk recovery programs 'unchk' and 'filechk' which both did a good job, but did not recognized all the files, and did not know all of the extentions to all the files in the hdd, their file names or their original locations, so i began weeding out the other files, like vob, which are large files anyways and weren't recognized, etc etc...
so then my dumb ass ran program again, and got fucked for it, it now says that the drive has 160 gigs, has 14 gigs free, but i can only see 40 gigs of files/folders in in the hdd
and i lost all the fils that had been renamed, got a bitchload more chk files, all small and got no idea WTF is going on anymore
i did creat a recovery floppy at that point, the second scandisk run, but i cannot find the disc anywhere
my problems:
1] after reinstalling everything my dvd burner still only burns cds, thoug not i have the option for dvd's available again though i keeps telling me that the cd does not have enough space init, even though t's only4.2 gigs being burned into a 4.7 dvd+r, the dvd-ram multi function drive once again shows cd-rom when a blank dvd-/+r is put in it.
i have no further ideas as to how to fix this problem, it says that the drivers are upto date, and i never got a
2] my external 160 gig hdd, i cann't see files that are there [obviously] as they are taking up space in the hdd, yet they for all intents and purposes do not exist
when i go in thorugh dos, and check the drive's dir, i get a rather large exe file
i'm currently running a few data recovery programs, but i'm not sure what i'll get till i recover them, and this is taking a loooooong time
any and all suggestions or help would be greatly apprecieated
thanks

Quicktime, again.
Date: 11/11/06

I had the same problem that's here, only with videos too, and it's not just on myspace. So I downloaded Firefox like jeffreyatw said in the entry, but now it still won't play altogether. It shows this even after downloading and installing Flash. My firewall is off too, so that's not the problem.
It was working fine until I updated iTunes. I'd uninstall Quicktime, if iTunes would work without it, but it doesn't. Does anyone know what else I should do that doesn't involve me uninstalling iTunes?

Dvd Shrink
I was the person who posted this a while ago: http://community.livejournal.com/computer_help/705735.html
Now I've found DVD Shrink on my computer. I understand you need to 'Open disc' and then all the dvd information comes up. From there, is there a way you can just put a blank disc in and burn straight from DVD Shrink or do you have to save the files and do it through Nero?
(If you explained this in your other comments, I obviously didn't understand :P)
Goddamn that man taking out the 2nd hard drive; burning dvds used to be so easy :(

If I'm importing sensitive material from a cell phone, through a computer to an external hard drive, is the data still stored somewhere in my internal hard drive? Is it stored in my ram? Can I dump information from my ram if this is the case?
What's the best way to go about protecting my data.

Dvd burning
Date: 11/04/06
Keywords: no keywords
Hello. A question about burning dvds when you only have one cd-rom drive.
Our stupid computer technician didn't put the 2nd drive in when he repaired our computer and then said it's fine cause you can still burn dvds with only one drive. Unfortunately I haven't mastered this... and we got the damn computer fixed last year! :(
So. How on Earth are you supposed to copy a dvd with only one cd-rom drive?
For example, when I pop a dvd into the drive, a folder opens and it says: D:/ and has two other folders in that folder which are labelled: AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS.
Audio folder is empty and Video folder has a whole bunch of files.
Please help me. Thanks.
