Feel like a failure

Well after removing my Ewido and Netscape and trying to see if I could remove IE7 myself proved wrong. Since my last post I was searching like crazy trying to find a working browser. So, I ended up back with Netscape, which isn't as bad as I thought, plus, I'm starting to get used to the tabbed stuff...I kinda like it anyway I guess.
Oh well...
and reinstalled Ewido
Sorry for the bother...

Now I'm angry. Since I've downloaded Netscape, I now can't get the IE 7 uninstalled. I went to oldversions.com and am downloading IE 5.5. I'm upset that whenever I try to uninstall IE 7 Beta 3 it always stops and freezes my laptop just when it says Clearing Registry, or something.
Any advice? Cuz I really can't afford to actually go prohelp on my laptop. :(
Plus I hate those damn tabs, ugh.

Hey,
I was wondering, is there anyway I can delete websites from my bowser memory? We're not supposed to use the internet for personal use where I work but, well, my job is boring and here I am. They set the computer up so that you can't clear the history, but I figured out how to do that. I have also deleted stuff from the 'temporary internet files', but still whenever i type L into the browser it rushes to suggest livejournal to me.
Just wondering if there was anything i could do?
Thanks

Stressed at what to do here

Hi. A few weeks ago I was using Internet Explorer as my web browser and I noticed these popups kept showing up:
http://s88.photobucket.com/albums/k193/AutumnRoseAngel/Popups/
So I removed IE and switched to Firefox, but I soon noticed that Firefox kept messing up on some of my pages, but no more popups.
So I'm reconsidering Firefox and moving to Netscape. I'll just try Netscape on here, I've used it at school and it works fine there.
What's the best way to remove spyware/spamware? What programs should I use?

Newly installed windows, no LAN Icon

Ok, so i'll try to include as much information as I can.
My boyfriend set up a computer yesterday, with a new hard drive, a friends motherboard, new memory and yadda yadda.
The motherboard is a Gigabyte Nvidia nForce2 MCp (GA 7N400 pro 2). The net card is inbuilt into the motherboard.
The problem: When hooking up the computer to the splitter which we have for the internet, the network places properties shows that the 1394 Connection (1394 Net Adapter) is connected, however unlike on my computer there is no LAN symbol that shows ithat the internet is connected as well. I don't know where to go from there because it automatically popped up on my computer (both running windows xp prof). We downloaded a chipset (for the motherboard, although i'm not sure it was the right one afterall) which fixed many problems (the sound and so on) but however when I go to device manager under Other devices there is a yellow exclaimation mark next to Ethernet Controler. Under Network adapters there is the 1394 net adapter with no problems.
I'm wondering what I try next.
Thanks moochen in advance

Help please!
Date: 08/01/06
Keywords: browser
Hi, I'm having a bit of trouble with my computer. Last night my entire computer crashed and I had to start from scratch and reinstall everything. After reinstalling all of the programs and getting the internet back up and running, things seemed to be okay until I tried watching something at youtube.com and found that my computer will no longer play videos online.
I figured this had something to do with flash and so I downloaded Macromedia Shockwave Player. It acted like it finished the downloading and everything, but I am still unable to play videos and pretty much anything that uses flash. So I tried downloading it again and still, it won't work.
Does anyone know why this is happening? Is the flash just not working properly for my computer or does it have something to do with my internet browser (I'm using Internet Explorer 6)? Or is there something else I'm missing here?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

These files will not delete.

I've tried using HijackThis to delete the following files, but they keep coming back (not immediately, usually the next day):
b3c6230b.exe
c4c4c003.exe
I've also tried using Pocket Killbox--no luck (although it seems to get rid of them for a longer time, they will come back). How do I get rid of these files permanently?
(PS I Googled the above files to see if I could find out what they were, exactly, and I only got two results. One was my entry here, from a few days before; and the other was my Daniweb thread from about a month ago. So what are these things?)

...but perhaps all is not lost.
I was shutting down a Word document and it asked me if I wanted to keep the contents of the clipboard available for other applications. I said no out of habit--except I SHOULD have said "yes."
Is there any way to get back deleted clipboard contents? I'm presuming no, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

boomerang-exe
Date: 07/27/06
Keywords: virus, spam
Okay.
I have some new problem now.
Still running my PC with windows XP.
Some exe´s sneaked onto my PC and made themselves some nice nest in the "program" folder. The names of them are "pmsngr" "isamonitor" "isamini" and "pmmon".
I unistalled the program which they belonged to, no idea what that was, but still and contantly some yellow alert icon keeps up blinking up in the task thing where all the other stuff such as the aim-icon for example is.
And it´s telling me that I have (OMG) more spam mails than usual! But that´s just somehting it says to make me click that little shit, and the internet explorer opens immediatelly to lead me to some empty site (my virus program might block it for some good reason).
However, I can´t delete these exe´s manually, because the folder they´ve been into (called IntCodec) is gone, but when I search for any of those exe´s it says that the folder´s still there and when I try to close them via taskamanger that I can delete them they come back instantly. Ahh, the JOY of boomerang exe´s.
Also, my Internet Explorer randomly keeps on comming up to lead me to more blank sites.
Might have something to do with that, but mustn´t.
I´ve tried GData and it hasn´t found anything, neither has Spybot.
Screenshot of the problem....: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v664/RikuDragon/Schwachfug/FUCKINGBOOMERANG.jpg
Help?
Also, this is less neccessary, but is there some way that I can delete Internet Explorer forever? I hate it, because it has always been very attractive for trojans and such. I´m sick of IE.

Netscape got stuck a minute ago, so I had to hit ctrl-alt-del to exit out of it. While the task manager was up, I saw some stuff I didn't recognize:
b3c6230b.exe
c4c4c003.exe
jusched.exe
sdmcp.exe
I just want to know if these are viruses/spyware and I should delete them, or if they are necessary.

Several Problems
Date: 07/26/06

I don't use IE for much [I usually stick to FF since my Opera is retarded]. But I do use it to make sure they layouts I make are compatiable with it.
For the longest time, most images do not display in it. I've checked the preferences but I can't figure it out. I've tried to update but it gives me the same problem quicktime does [see below].
Also, most of the user pics I use do not display in the Semagic updater. When I make a post with graphcis in Semagic and preview it in Semagic, the images do not show up but when I post it and check my post on FF, it show the images fine. Does this have to do with the fact that my IE won't display most of them?
I tried to update my quicktime, but it says I'm not allowed to do so [despite the fact that I'm the admin on this computer]. So I restarted in safe mode and went under the actual admin account, but I can't update quicktime from there either. And now quicktime isn't on this computer at all.
We have a DVD/CD burner in our tower. It will burn DVDs without a problem, but always comes up with an error [during validation] when I burn a CD. Turning off validation gets ride of the error message, but the CD still doesn't work.

Programs aren't opening correctly
Date: 07/24/06
Keywords: virus, spyware
Hi, I was just wondering if anybody could help me with this little problem:
Well, basically, after like 10 minutes or so (the time is usually different) turning on the computer, all of my programs that weren't opened beforehand decide not to open, and the ones that do work incorrectly. Also, when I open the start bar a few of the icons for the programs don't display correctly, and things in folders don't look right either. I'd take a screenshot, but paint won't open.
I've scanned for viruses and spyware about a billion times, deleted everything bad, but that doesn't work, just so you know. So you don't have to ask, I'm using windows XP. If you need more info just ask. Thanks everyone!

Video card problem
Date: 07/24/06
Keywords: no keywords
I recently upgraded to a mobo with a PCIEx16 slot (ASUS Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 ATX AMD and all that junk), so I purchased an eVGA Geforce 7600GS video card for it. I connected everything properly as far as I'm aware, but when I try to turn on the thing it goes on a boot loop.
First I see the ASUS card screen, then the screen flickers and shows brief system info. Then it goes to the "Windows could not boot normally" screen and gives me the options for safe mode and all of that. But no matter what option I choose, it gives me a momentary flicker of the Windows boot screen, then a millisecond blue screen which goes by so fast I can't even read it, and then it goes black and starts up all over again.
I only hear one "all is normal" beep from the system, so I don't understand what the problem is. Help? This has been taking a mental toll on me lately and I just want my damn computer to work.

I feel like such a noob posting here..
I have a few problems I have been neglecting.
In order of priority:
#1
Since yesterday every few seconds, or ever few minutes, my Outlook Express pops up and likes to fill my screen. I do not use it for email. It usually happens when I'm typing. . I don't think it's linked to any of my buttons, not even my Mail button.
I have tried adaware, spybot, deleting things in my task manager, and AVG and I can't seem to get rid of it.
#2
I think either my graphics card hates me, or my computer is overheating. Whenever I am playing something graphics heavy (World of Warcraft) sometimes my screen goes blank and then I get that nice colorful lined screen. I either have to wait for my computer to restart, which it will after a few minutes, or restart it myself. I may get a new fan for this problem to see if it helps.
#3
My firefox likes to crash often. I have tried what the firefox suggests for this, (turning my firewall off, making sure plugins are UTD). Firefox is also up to date.
Windows XP professional, V 2002. Service pack 2
AMD Athalon 64 processor 3500+
2.21 GHz
512MB RAM
ATI Radeon 9600 (2005, spiked face mask)
I am on instant messenger right now if anyone can help

Toshibe laptop HD issues
Date: 07/24/06
Keywords: no keywords
Sorry that this is cross-posted everywhere, but I’m getting beyond frustrated with this problem. A few months back, my boyfriend installed a no-cd hack for a videogame that he had lost the disk for, and it said something about needing to update the video driver, so he did, and then he got the blue screen of death. So he restarts, and the computer is on for a little, then another blue screen. Now it gets to the windows loading screen and then the blue screen comes, and it just keeps restarting by itself over and over. It won’t boot from the recovery disk, or safe mode or anything else we could think of. We bought an external casing thing for the hard drive, figuring if we just wiped it clean the laptop would be problem free, but we’re having issues with that too. We put the HD in the casing and plugged it into my computer, but whenever we try to format it, it’ll act busy, then say “Format could not be completed.” Before we attempted the format, we tried to just open the drive to manually delete what we think is the problem, but it wouldn’t even let us open it. I really don’t want to have to spend the money on a new HD, so I’m really hoping one of you guys can help me out! Is it possible to have somehow friend the HD beyond repair with a driver..?
Thanks in advance!!

Two questions
Date: 07/23/06
Keywords: virus, spyware
Hello,
Two questions:
How do I make what is on my laptop screen show up on my television? My DVD player is busted and I would like to view my DVDs without having to buy a new one.
I would like some of the additional features on Windows (like aquarium screensavers, themes, etc.), but I don't want to spend any money on it. I am also wary of things on torrent sites because I have seen those fish screensaver pop-ups, and I know what they can do to a system. Any safe, virus-/spyware-/adware-/crap-free methods that have worked for you?
Thanks!
