Hello
Date: 08/17/06
(PHP Community) Keywords: php, mysql, sql, google
Hello, I am new you can call me Kristi.
I have been searching google for a php calendar for a few days now, and haven't found one that I like. I specifically looking for one that just lists the dates of important events not an actual calendar. I've looked on codegrrl.com but I couldn't find the calendar my friend Crystal used. If you have any suggestions please post them!
Or if you just created a php calendar and want someone to try it out then that's fine too.
Oh by the way, I'm pretty new at PHP so I want a simple calendar that is easy to install also my server doesn't support MYSQL which can be a problem!
Thanks so much!

A question..
Date: 08/21/06
(Computer Geeks) Keywords: java, virus, web, spyware, google
Hi fellow geeks,
At every webpage I've visited recently, this line of code has been close to the top, if not at the top:
< script language='javascript' src='http://127.0.0.1:1027/js.cgi?ca&r=32609'> < /script > (but without the spaces, and sometimes the R number changes)
I've done spyware scans with ad-aware, spybot, and ZoneAlarm Pro's Antispyware, and a virus scan with AVG Free, but they haven't found anything.
Is this proof that all the webmasters on the internet are out to get me? Or have I got some sort of virus/spyware/other that's doing this?
Windows XP SP2, with Firefox v1.5.06 and a handful of extensions (Google text, stumbleupon, a cookie editor, a 'l337 sp33k' converter, a page validation thingy, and adblock)
EDIT: If I view the source of the filey thing, it says this:
'var blockedReferrer = 'blockedReferrer';
NS_ActualWrite=document.write;
document.ignore = new Object();'
< / edit >
Thanks in advance for any help!

Google.Com Banned in China?
Date: 08/21/06
(Java Web) Keywords: google
A Chinese blogger finds Google.com inaccessible around 60% of the time whereas Google.cn is perfectly accessible. Is it coincidence or intetnional?
Is Google intentionally blocking Google.com in China and providing intermittent access instead of outright banning to prevent backlash from internet community & activists.
If you are a Chinese blogger, I would love to know your experiences [...]

How To Prevent Search Engines Like Google & MSN Search From Using ODP Title & Description For Site
Date: 08/23/06
(Java Web) Keywords: google
Search engines like Google often fetch your site description from ODP (Open Directory Project) description instead of fetching it from the site content or meta-tags. This may not always be desirable as it may not represent your site properly. However luckily you can specify whether search engines can use ODP titles & descriptions. To prevent [...]

Hmmm
Date: 08/28/06
(PHP Community) Keywords: google
Anyone else notice that a lot of major servers seem to be straining under load in the last couple days. My ISP through put dropped down to 15k from its normal average of 1.5megabit so I didn't notice right away but its getting kind of weird. I've gotten a lot of temporary 500 errors on sourceforge.net, google.com, wikipedia, youtube.com, and a couple other major sites that I know use clustering. Maybe I am just seeing things, but it looks like emergency maintenance is being done on the public/production servers which is unheard of to me...especially for the eggheads at google.

MP3 problems! :(
Date: 08/29/06
(Computer Geeks) Keywords: google
I've roamed the internet for answers, but just come up with MORE questions about fixing MP3 players, that don't even have to DO with my question!
I have currently acquired a "Curtis MP510" MP3 player from my sister who received an iPod.
The problem is, when I try to play it while NOT plugged into the USB port, it does nothing. Supposedly plugging it into the USB port will charge the battery... So I'm not sure if I should bother getting more batteries, only to have no use for them if that isn't the issue (I have no use for AAA batteries... who does? :/)
The manual I found online (she didn't give me anything aside from the player itself) said to try and unlock it before trying to turn it on... no go.
I've googled my little heart out, and now would like some help from OMG HUMANZ!
:) Thanks in advance, if you can lend a hand.

(IE 7 & Flash) & (Using javascript and XHTML transitional)
Date: 09/01/06
(Web Development) Keywords: css, html, java, web, google
This is really an annoyance above and beyond my comprehension. I was having some issues with IE 6 with all updates installed.
The issue? My quick links in the tool bar were functioning strangly only *after... They were opening up a new window instead of using the current window.
*I installed XP Pro (genuine) over top of my Home edition for various reasons with my IT friend. But since then the IE 6 had this issue.
I fugured a solution would be to use this IE7 beta 3... It's awesome and quite faster than Opera and Firefox. Though, when browsing, any website that uses Flash will not load the flash. I have to visit adobe.com every time and install it. But it doesn't actually install on my PC... what the f...?
I've been working on my personal website (Family and friendly safe) for over a year. I have no previous education on how to code and it's been basically trial and error. I used to have a lot of time on my hands. Google had become a good friend.
I'm slowly working out errors in my code and trying to comply with XHTML transitional rules for now. My work with CSS is below average and I trust my Dreamweaver 8 for assistance but even this won't help me with xhtml.
How do I implement javascript in with xhtml? Or do I have to use other functions in my style sheet to do this?

Attention Computer Nerds
Date: 09/06/06
(Computer Geeks) Keywords: google
The other day, I went and stopped some of the processes that I didn't think were necessary (as per checking them on google first). Now, I can't seem to download any video files or the like. Is there a process that I deleted that I probably shouldn't have? If you name a process, I could likely tell you if I deleted it. If it matters, it doesn't work with any of the download things that comes with the browswers I use (IE, Firefox, Opera)

A fluffy little question
Date: 09/07/06
(PHP Community) Keywords: php, google
Unlike many of my past posts, this post is purely about how I want something to look without trying to implement it in a clunky, conditional manner.
Plus, I'm sure I've seen this before (though it's possible it wasn't in PHP).
What function, if any, will put the appropriate...suffix, I guess...on a numeric input?
For Example: Putting the st on 1st or the nd on 2nd.
Small Disclaimer: I know I could look this up myself. I'm perfectly capable of searching php.net or google.com, but the fact is...I'm not entirely sure what this is called. "Suffix" was the closest I could even remotely come. So along with possibly giving me the answer to my question...letting me know the name of what I'm asking about would be helpful as well. :D
